So this is where he was laying.
SPEAKER_12That's crazy because like my dad would her would hang out right here, but she had to be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_00This is the daughter of Kenneth Yazzy Bill, a homeless man that the cops just found slaughtered to death in a remote wooded area, surrounded by alcohol bottles, blood-covered sleeping bags, and one bloody rock besides his head.
SPEAKER_04Um, looks like there's stuff that's Hey, we have a homicide.
SPEAKER_00As the detectives searched the crime scene, they discovered clues that painted the truth of the horrific night of Kenneth's murder.
SPEAKER_14Same MO as the last two that were bludgeoned. I believe this bush.
SPEAKER_00But as the investigators delve deeper, something far more unsettling emerged. A pattern of violent attacks against the homeless population reported across the area. And with each new detail, it became clear this wasn't an isolated act, and whoever was responsible was not yet finished.
SPEAKER_10Hey Mr. Luce, I'm gonna take a photo of you, Kim. Take your hat and your mask off, all right?
SPEAKER_00On April 2nd, 2025, in Farmington, New Mexico, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Farmington Police Department received a chilling 911 call from a man describing a horrifying scene he had stumbled upon in a wooded area near East Murray Drive, where a man lay motionless and another person was badly injured.
SPEAKER_13911, what's the added severe emergency?
SPEAKER_01East Murray Drive and Randolph, Armington. He's not moving and there's blood all on his face. I can't even see it. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_13Stay with me, is he conscious?
SPEAKER_01No, not responding. Is he bleeding?
SPEAKER_13Okay, are you in a safe location right now?
SPEAKER_01I think so. But there's another woman here. She's her base.
SPEAKER_13How many people are injured?
SPEAKER_01Two. The guy, and I think one woman. I don't know if she's bleeding too, or if it's the guy that's blue, but she's moving.
SPEAKER_00The man, trying his best to stay calm, explained what he saw from a distance. But once the first response arrived at the scene, they were met with a scene far more disturbing than expected.
SPEAKER_04Since this is the third, what's the time frame on your other ones?
SPEAKER_14Within the month.
SPEAKER_04Within the month, so this might be something to go have our IB come down and work jointly with.
SPEAKER_14But yeah, this is our third within probably a month. Um so let me make some phone calls because I don't know if they want IB involved or whatever, but we can work jointly. Um let me just make my phone calls first and then we'll figure it out.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_14Okay. Thank you. I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_04Alright. Thank you, sir. Bye.
SPEAKER_14Um did you walk down at all or I walk down.
SPEAKER_04I set up my bag. I didn't see the face yet, I just saw the Okay. So I was gonna go. I basically just right there.
SPEAKER_14Okay, did you go that way or this way?
SPEAKER_04Uh I I went down. Okay.
SPEAKER_14Just so I'm in the same spot as you.
SPEAKER_04So all my impressions are here, and I'm the only one that's been on scene.
SPEAKER_14Same MO.
SPEAKER_04Who is it?
SPEAKER_14Uh Carol Penna, maybe that's what all this paperwork says. Hey, um, might be a female. Carol Penna? Yeah, I'm not sure, but they got flagged down over with this little surplus. Um, State Police is wondering if you want IB involved.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_14Okay. Okay. No. Yeah, well, and I said we have this. This is the third one that's kind of had the same ammo, so I figured we'd take it. Okay, perfect. Thank you. Bye.
SPEAKER_00When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who they suspected to be a woman called Carol due to the paperwork found on scene, still alive, but critically injured, suffering from deep cuts, a head injury, and significant blood loss. She was immediately transported by ambulance to San Juan Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment, completely unconscious.
SPEAKER_04This is gonna be like a serial type thing then.
SPEAKER_14Because the last two same.
SPEAKER_04And just looking at everything, it looks like all it looks like a female. Um looks like there's stuff.
SPEAKER_14Hey, we have a homicide. Yeah, um, same MO as the last two that were bludgeoned, as far as 56s go. No, so state police actually found them. Um they were flagged down by, I'm assuming this little surplus across the street. Um, but no, like there's a rock, he got bludgeoned, or they got bludgeoned to death. I can't tell from here. Um, and I'm not gonna walk as close as I can. Looks maybe they said maybe a female, but I can't I can't tell. The head's bashed in. So, um okay. Thank you. Bye. Hey, walk too far, so that's okay. One way in right here. Yep, right down the outer mat.
SPEAKER_00Nearby, officers located Kenneth Yazzi Bill, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. A large blood-stained rock was found beside his body. An autopsy later determined that Kenneth suffered extensive blunt force trauma to the head, including severe cranial fractures and a catastrophic brain injury. The medical examiner concluded that the cause of death was multiple blunt force impacts to the head, consistent with being struck repeatedly by a heavy object, and ruled the manner of death a homicide. Therefore, cops immediately began gathering any possible witnesses. Yet this wouldn't be so easy.
SPEAKER_07Oh, not so bad. Do you guys happen have any idea why we're here? No, I own this place, but I have no idea where we're here. Do you own this one here? Yes. You screwed up, bud. Do you guys happen to have cameras? We already talked about it.
SPEAKER_08Uh I close out of my business and I don't. I've got a ring camera.
SPEAKER_07I don't know what to do. Apparently, it looks like this. Uh pretty much right where everybody's at right in front of us. That's kind of where we're looking. Even if it's just like the road or really anything. Not even the road, but like the sidewalk.
SPEAKER_08Damn, you wouldn't know what time you're kind of looking at. To be honest with you, I have no idea. At this point, I have no idea. My one camera in this. My good hard drive to fly itself sometimes versus most of my camera's in this. This is one of the hard home. Yeah. So I'll tell you what. So give a card.
SPEAKER_07I'll tell you what. Um, just don't know how you make you wait here forever. Okay, what's a good phone number for you?
SPEAKER_00The officers were only able to gather one possible witness who might have camera footage to share, but sadly, this would just end up being a dead lead. So once Kenneth's body was taken off scene, the ground searches began looking for clues, and it started painting a far darker picture of what happened that night.
SPEAKER_08Those jeans don't about getting in there very long.
SPEAKER_03Same with this parka. This jacket kinda wet, but I think this is from stuff fallen, right? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02That's just weird, right?
SPEAKER_00The wooded area was a popular homeless conch, yet in the presence of the cops, they all fled to avoid any questioning, which left the detectives only the leftover scraps to work off of. Yet in the evening, when the forensic photographers arrived to snap the evidence of the crime scene, they started noticing something strange.
SPEAKER_06I agree with you. I think we should photograph first.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Because isn't it like one of the things where they're like, oh, all the evidence that proves my client innocent is underneath that tent?
SPEAKER_12So feral. So if we're doing leaf invasive to most.
SPEAKER_06Photographs.
SPEAKER_12Photographs.
SPEAKER_06Then tent. Then feral.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, because there's no way we can mark everything without starting to walk.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Do you have enough cool tents?
SPEAKER_12No. Let's leave it like that.
SPEAKER_06But we have to move the tent for a photo.
SPEAKER_12What tent?
SPEAKER_06Tent markers?
SPEAKER_11Why do we have to move it?
SPEAKER_06Because the defense is gonna be like, oh, all the evidence that proves my client's innocent is right under the tent marker right there, but you die you can't prove it's not because we don't have original photos.
SPEAKER_11I have it here.
SPEAKER_06Huh?
SPEAKER_12I value your input.
SPEAKER_06Alright.
SPEAKER_12I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_06I just don't I don't know. It's more work.
SPEAKER_12No, no.
SPEAKER_06Probably just go to the bottle there. That'd make the most sense to me. Or did you learn that your number one evidence or item is your most important?
SPEAKER_12No, I learned that you learned.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_12Okay. Do we want to look for impressions first, just in case?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. There's a good shoe impression right there. I don't even know. Nobody's on the scene that game. It'd be Mainus and Staplee. Yeah. Blinding that unit.
SPEAKER_12It's like pretty close to the ground.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. Maybe we'll photograph that one just in case. Do you by chance take a photo of his shoes? Uh witnesses? Okay.
SPEAKER_00Officers didn't know at the time, but this half-drank alcohol bottle would play a pivotal role in uncovering the horrifying scene that happened the night of Kenneth's murder.
SPEAKER_06There's one. Yeah, there's a couple right here. Yeah. Huh?
SPEAKER_12Um I said, okay. Do you want to mark it then?
SPEAKER_06Do you see it or no?
SPEAKER_05Like I can see where you're coming from, but I don't.
SPEAKER_06I don't see any ridge detail or anything. No. Yeah. And then it looks like there's like disturbed dirt here. Right above those. Hey Lisa.
SPEAKER_00There were two main evidence pieces the forensic team found that night: a half-used bottle of Jose Cuervo with DNA evidence on the bottle mouth, and a single shoe print. These would become vital in solving the case later on, yet until they had someone to match against the DNA they found, it was useless. Therefore, the next plan of action, with Kenneth's death confirmed as a homicide, his family had to be informed, and it painted a bigger picture of who Kenneth actually was.
SPEAKER_05So this is where he was laying. Yes.
SPEAKER_12This is where he hangs out right here.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_12But I don't know it was right here. I thought it was way over here. So that part that starved, is that the blood there?
SPEAKER_15Fire did come and wash um it up and tried to pick up all the trash that was around.
SPEAKER_12But everything was picked up for him. Does he have a phone? He had two phones, but they weren't working. And um I don't know what happened to them. But we know that people try to do it. Um one of them said that his friend had taken the the charger so he couldn't charge it. So sometimes I'll charge his phone, but he's really hard of hearing, so he would never hear his phone when I called him, so I would just look around for him. Thank you so much for trying to do what you guys can for that you guys are out there so much.
SPEAKER_15Yeah, these are these cases are very hard because um a lot of the homeless um population doesn't want to talk to us, and it's just um something that happens on a regular basis. So even Saturday night I was out talking to people and I ran into numerous guys that they're they had black eyes and their faces were swollen, and none of them would tell me anything. So it's really hard, but we're doing our best to and that's why when we found out that there was maybe a case that was tied, I said, let's go talk to her and see, and sure enough it was. So she had been found down there after she had been hit in the head with the bottle, and we're pretty sure that's the bottle that we found here on scene.
SPEAKER_12Scary to be out here. Yeah. And I couldn't help my dad. I tried telling him sober up, sober up, dad. Come back home with us. You don't want to come back to us. You know, and you want you'd rather just be by himself. Didn't want to do anything for himself except because he's only way to cope with his life. But when I was with him, he didn't talk sad or didn't say weird stuff like that. He was always happy.
SPEAKER_00Kenneth's daughter revealed a bit more about Kenneth's character, yet they needed more information on his street life. So the detectives shifted their focus the following morning to questioning the local homeless population. As a troubling pattern began to emerge, in the past few months, multiple assaults on homeless individuals had been reported within the same area, nearly all involving blunt force trauma to the head. But there was a major obstacle. No one living on the streets was willing to talk to the police. And if the pattern truly was connected, it meant the clock was already ticking toward the next attack.
SPEAKER_16How are you doing? Not good. Not good.
SPEAKER_15Uh-oh, did Officer Castillo catch you?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_15No?
SPEAKER_16I'm walking. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_15Do you know two canes? What's funny?
SPEAKER_06Water gun.
SPEAKER_15No, it's not a water gun.
SPEAKER_06Do you know two canes? Now what about DG?
SPEAKER_15We're well, we're contacting people because um we think that somebody's targeting the homeless population. And a guy was murdered, and a couple other ones were flown to Albuquerque with brain injuries, and then another guy was beat up on Saturday.
SPEAKER_16So what the hell? It's coming into Parenting. It was in Albuquerque, now it's coming to Parlington. What the hell?
SPEAKER_15You haven't heard anything on the street about people getting beat up? No. Are those your friends? No.
SPEAKER_16Well, if they're relatives, like cool.
SPEAKER_15Oh, we'll run talk to them all. You just wait for Officer Castillo.
SPEAKER_16It looks like he's got my importance already, Matt.
SPEAKER_15Alright, wait for him, okay?
SPEAKER_00This was the first group of homeless that was willing to speak to the cops. And this is where things started to take a concerning turn.
SPEAKER_16He's been calling every day.
SPEAKER_09Every day he's been calling, but oh I call all that you have my name on the record. I call the police so much on this street right here, they know me by my name. So uh I pretty much watch out for this whole neighborhood. I got cameras, I watch out for this whole neighborhood. We watch out for the neighborhood. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Well that's what we're at here. We're kinda.
SPEAKER_09Don't do nothing. That's a good thing. That camera's a waste of money. Yeah, that's not a good thing.
SPEAKER_15Well, we have the real-time crime center, so there's people in there monitoring. Um, not all the time.
SPEAKER_09They couldn't enter the camera and not enter into my property.
SPEAKER_15No, it goes, it's watching this street.
SPEAKER_09But if it's not being like controlled, it it does not go into the property. I had a puddle of blood and a broken bottle. But I've seen several people get beat up here and and the camera's not being watched. There was there was two girls beating up another girl here on the right there. And the camera was up.
SPEAKER_05Well, we have 500 something cameras in the city. You can't watch all of them at the same time.
SPEAKER_15But I know this is when they watch pretty frequently, but also our patrol is short, so sometimes they're holding like 30 calls.
SPEAKER_00The cops found out the homeless have been reporting attacks for weeks, and nothing was getting done about it. Yet during the cops' witness sweep, the woman who was found severely injured besides Kenneth woke up in hospital, but wasn't able to reveal much more other than her name. Tanya Rhea Romero. Meaning, the paperwork belonging to Carol Penna found on scene did not belong to her, raising yet another unanswered question: who was Carol? And why was her paperwork on the scene of a murder? Therefore, the detectives located the apartment which Carol's paperwork was addressed to and were met with two men, who the detectives were not yet familiar with. And this is when detectives will make a devastating discovery, one that would turn this into a far more personal case. I mean, who doesn't like seeing people's reactions like these? From no commentary to just interrogation. Because I know some of you guys hate that, but that's not the end. We really enjoy what we are building, so we have an exclusive Patreon community where they get firsthand access to anything we post and all uncensored footage and images. And some of the things are truly horrifying.
SPEAKER_11Oh doggy.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, just my friend. Her friend? Yeah. Okay. Mind if I come in for a second? If you're okay with that? I'm good. Thank you. Yeah, I don't have a cook right here. I'm gonna start here. Okay. Hello.
SPEAKER_16I uh I hope not.
SPEAKER_07We're looking for anything that you're doing.
SPEAKER_16All I got, all I got is me.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_16We talk today. We talked today.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean? Maybe my job is something else. I just got some questions for you. And um, you guys are in any trouble that I know of, so I'm not looking for trouble, I'm looking for information. No, I'm not in any trouble. Good. I'm not here to I'm not here to arrest anybody or mirandize anybody. I'm not in any trouble, so alright. Hey, when's the last time you saw Carolyn? Um, it's been gosh. I don't even know. No about you don't know her? I don't know her. You said about a week. Yeah, about a week. I don't know the woman. He knows. Understood. What was your name, sir? Glenn. Glenn what? Adams. You've been around here a while, haven't you? Yeah. You guys had some recent domestic issues? Yeah, with her stuff. Okay. Okay. So this is all of her stuff right here? Yeah. Oh, that's hers and her boyfriend. What's boyfriend? Um Dwayne is all I know. Dwayne. Dwayne walk with a cane. Who has the cane? Oh, okay. It's not your cane. Yeah, he used a cane. Okay. Alright. So you ain't talked to her in a week? No. On only on the phone. Okay. What'd she say? Oh, she said something about uh why I told her, well, you can come by and get yourself. That's about it. Give her phone number for her. Uh right. Did she ever hang out with anybody else besides Dwayne? Not that I know of. Did she ever bring ever a guy that walks with two two canes? Oh yeah. You know that uh oh what's his name? I forget what his name is. Yeah, she brought him here first. Maybe Kenneth? Does that sound right? That sounds about right, Ken. Kenneth Bill? Yeah. Like an older Native American guy, kind of skinny. Yeah. Are they pretty close? Her and Ken? I don't know. Uh because he wasn't here that long before whatever happened. Was he staying here with you guys too? Yeah, he was sleeping right there on the floor. Oh, okay. Kenneth was when was this? Oh my gosh. That was January? Oh, it's been a while. You've been here a long, long time. Yeah, I've been here.
SPEAKER_00The witness revealed that Kenneth would stay there sometimes as he was a good friend of Carol's, who was also staying there as she was having problems with her boyfriend, Dwayne, which would turn out to be a nickname for a man named Ames Chi Biget. What the cops didn't yet know was that Carol was the key to solving this case. And when they found her, she revealed she was there that night Kenneth got killed, and she pointed the finger to none other than her boyfriend as the culprit. She led the police to Ames's usual hangout spots, and it wasn't long before they found him. Yet there were still some details Carol hadn't disclosed yet until after Ames was detained.
unknownOkay. Alright, I'm gonna go back.
SPEAKER_10Go ahead and take your backpack off for me, okay? You're being detained right now? Okay, so I'll explain to you in just a second, okay. So somebody matching your description has come up in an investigation and the detectives would like to talk to you. Okay? So we're gonna take you up to detectives, alright? Yep. Alright, I appreciate it. So let's identify them and then pat them down and take them up there. Thanks for coming.
SPEAKER_04Put your money and your card in your bag, okay? Anything else that's on.
SPEAKER_10Hey Mr. Lewis, I'm gonna take a photo of you, Kim. Take your hat and your and your mask off, all right?
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_10Appreciate it. Yep.
SPEAKER_00When Ames was detained, Carol revealed the full story of what happened that night. In the evening, she and Ames met up with Kenneth and Tanya in the popular homeless conch to hang out and drink. Ames brought a bottle of Jose Cuervo for himself and beer for the others. According to Carol, Ames got extremely intoxicated, causing him to make unwanted advances to Tanya. This caused Kenneth to intervene, to which Ames completely snapped, hitting Tanya in the head with the alcohol bottle and beating up Kenneth. Carol, understandably frightened, fled the scene. She claimed she did not feel the need to report it, as these kinds of fights happen often in the community, and she fled before Ames killed Kenneth. With this information, detectives had enough to formally arrest Ames and test him against the evidence on scene. DNA evidence on the Jose Cuervo bottle, mouth and footprint found on scene, matched Ames. And once Tanya recovered enough to speak to cops, she confirmed the same story. With this, Ames Chi Bagay was charged with second degree murder, tampering with evidence, and aggravated battery. For now, the case remains pending, with no sentencing yet imposed.
